Passing - Dad tips on kids soccer, soccer drills, soccer gear, a-league, FIFA world cup, Socceroos

Passing is the most widely used aspect of the professional game. So having you son/daughter understand the role of passing instead of just kicking the ball hard. Soccer is a team sport.

This aspects does take patients,  in kids football that many goals are scored by “just kicking” and not by “creating the play” by passing. So at an early age passing is not justly rewarded, so this aspects requires patience and belief by coach and player. One coach explained to be that the Soccer is thinking man’s game – like chess. Formation, possession and team work are the most important aspects.

Home Passing Exercise

1. Passing against the wall – Pass the ball against the wall, touching the ball against the instep of your foot, wait for the rebound, trap the ball and pass the ball again. remember stay on your toes and keep sharp. Alternate your foot on each pass.

2. Switch point of attack – This time use your laces in the pass. Using your laces is normally for power, so this technique is great technique for long range passing. Step further way from the wall fro this technique and let the ball come off the ground slightly.

This clip is not from a Soccer Channel on Youtube but I think it is one of the best instructional videos on passing exercise at home.
